Dr. (Sr) Catherine Bernard, the founder and director of Service and Research Foundation of Asia on Family and Culture, was the first V.I.P. to visit Shanti Bhavan in September 1997.

Mr. Mohan Pyare, Collector, Dharmapuri District, visited on Christmas Eve, 1997, and assured us of his support.

Mr. Arnaud Souvete, President, Alcatel, evinced keen interest in the children and the set-up. He said that Alcatel will help in whatever way it can with telephones and communication.

Mr. R.V.S. Rao, General Manager - Southern Region, HDFC, along with Mr. Phillip Lewis, President, Bowring Institute, came to see how they could assist us through the corporate community.

Mr. T.S. Ranga, National Award Winner several times over for scriptwriting, direction, acting and singing, has already set in motion his creative talents for making a film on Shanti Bhavan.

Mr. Selvaraj I.A.S. (Retd.) is championing the cause of the children of Shanti Bhavan in the ministry in Delhi.

Mr. K. Lakshman, President, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry visited with Mr. T. Ramappa, Secretary - II, FKCCI, to involve more people in giving the children a bright future.

Tata BP, Bangalore in collaboration with their London office brought a British Televsion team, ÔTake 3', to film the use of solar equipment in the rural setting of Shanti Bhavan. They screened the film ÔShanti Bhavan - A Place in Sun' at the industrial exhibition of the G-8 Economic summit in Birmingham, England in mid-May 1998.
