Tillany Fine Arts Museum and Gallery

Construction of Tillany was completed prior to its inauguration on 30 December 2000. The inauguration was held on the grounds of Tillany.

HH Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji performed the ritual of lighting the lamp and gave his blessings. The major benefactors Mr. & Mrs. Mathew & Aleyamma George, parents of Dr. George, were present. Chief Guests Sri Anantha Kumar, Union Minister for Tourism & Culture, and Sri SM Krishna, Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, were both unable to attend. Guests of Honour present were
Sri Mullaivendan, Minister for Information, Publicity & Printing, Government of Tamil Nadu; Sri N Vaghul, Chairman, ICICI Ltd;
Sri MS Nanjunda Rao, Director, Chitrakala Parishath, and Smt. Vimala Rangachar, Chairperson, Crafts Council of Karnataka.

There was an exhibition of art and sculpture from South India called "Southern Perspectives" on the three floors of the museum. Renowned dancer Smt. Sonal Mansingh, recepient of the Padma Bhushan award, gave an Odissi performance. Veena exponent, Dr. Suma Sudhindran gave a veena recital of Carnatic classical music. Invitees who included the local village communities, were treated to a sumptuous dinner at the end of the function.
