Centres for Studies in Emerging Critical Issues
is an attempt to formulate conceptual issues regarding major economic
challenges and social and environmental problems facing developing countries,
and to find practical solutions. The goal is to articulate a development
strategy that redefines the roles of the state and the private sector
in the economy. Topics deal in areas such as macroeconomics, finance,
technology, corporate governance, poverty, income and wealth distribution,
environmental protection and health care delivery, amongst others. Initiated
by Dr. George, the Centre engages in "brainstorming" sessions among prominent
individuals in the field in India and elsewhere, and presents papers and
lectures on key issues.
Papers and lectures presented to-date are listed below. You may access
them by clicking the desired report. Your comments are most welcome.
